One miner lagging 24 blocks behind the other

I’ve got two miners running on a Mac Mini (M4 Pro, 64GB RAM), and both seem to be running stably (200% CPU, using ~19GB memory). Nothing surprising in their respective logs, just a steady march of new block / mining notices. But one of them is a good 24 blocks behind the other. Some questions: 1) This means that that miner is currently useless, correct? Despite the mining logs, it’s clearly not working off of the most current info and thus will never prove a block. 2) What could account for this, and how would I have known it was happening if not for a second miner for comparison?

  1. correct it needs to be mining at the block height tip.
  2. probably should check one of the block explorer sites like this one: https://doge.monster/lab/nock not completely updated in real time but pretty close

We are currently working on improvements to keeping miners and nodes synced well.

In the meantime, restart the miner if it gets lagged like that until it catches up.
